Ordino Arcalís, where times stands still
The main summer attraction in Ordino Arcalís is undoubtedly the spectacular Tristaina Solar Viewpoint.
It is located on the Peyreguils peak at an altitude of 2,701 meters and offers a 360-degree panoramic view of the Tristaina glacial cirque and the entire Ordino valley which was declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO.
The Tristaina gondola and the Creussans chairlift provide easy access to the viewpoint with the last section done on foot. The structure, which has a 25-meter-long walkway and a total weight of 32 tons, is integrated into the environment with only four anchor points. In addition, the viewpoint acts as a sundial thanks to the 27-meters-long central gnomon inclined at 42.55 degrees.
In Ordino Arcalís, you can also enjoy the unique ascent by bicycle to a final port of the Tour de France and La Vuelta a España free from road traffic, an experience for cycling lovers. This activity can be concluded with the excellent cuisine of the La Coma restaurant, newly renovated, at an altitude of 2,200 m.
The Creussans chairlift, which allows access to the solar viewpoint, will open every day from June 4th to November 1st, 2023. The Tristaina cable car will open on weekends from June 9th to 24th and daily, until September 12th, to open again only on weekends until November 1st.
