CERTIFICATION EXAMS
Certification exams recognize the assimilation of content and training for the employees. These professional certifications are administered by Domaines Skiables de France (DSF) and the Ministry of Economy of the Government of Andorra.
In order to take the exams, it is necessary to be employed by the ski resort’s administration, which will decide who enrolls according to the qualifications and experience required by each type of training.
SNOW GROOMING DRIVER
There are two levels of training for drivers of snow groomers:
1st Grade snow grooming driver
Basic knowledge provided to drive snow grooming machines and
work the slopes in optimal conditions. The syllabus includes topics
such as safety at work, meteorology or mechanics.
Requirements to present candidature in the professional
qualification certificate (CQP) for 1st Grade Snow Grooming Driver:
- Minimum experience of one season as a snow groomer driver.
- The candidature must be submitted by the ski station.
Type of exam:
- •45-minute theory test with 100 multiple choice questions.
- Practical test: conducted in the snow groomer that the candidate usually drives, answering questions about specific and technological aspects of the vehicle, as well as practical situations on the ground (approximately one hour test).
2nd Grade Snow Grooming Driver
The objective is to deepen and complement the knowledge acquired
in the Level 1 course and acquire all the tools in the profession. In
this course, knowledge about snow, snow science applied to the
terrain, different snow jobs, knowledge and use of snow grooming
machines, etc. will be expanded.
Requirements to apply for a 2nd Grade Snow Grooming Driver:
- Have the 1st Grade Snow Grooming Driver certificate.
- Accumulated 2,000 hours of driving a snow groomer after obtaining the 1st Degree.
- Full-time work contract for a permanent position within the snow grooming team.
- The candidature must be submitted by the ski station.
Theoretical training: 25 hours.
Practical training: Each station conducts its own practice.
Type of exam:
- Theory test: consists of a multiple choice questionnaire (20 min) and another speaken exam (45min.).
- Practical test: Candidates must take different on-site tests. On the day of the exam, a AVD test will also be done.
