During the second half of January, the operational exams for ski resort workers were held. The exams for Ski Lift and Ski Area Agent were administered, as well as the theoretical portion of the exams for ski lift and snow groomer operators. The tests were organised at the Andorra la Vella Congress Centre and were attended by 240 people.

Ski mountaineering at resorts

If you practice ski mountaineering at resorts, it is essential that you consult the authorized itineraries , the permitted slopes at each resort, and the established opening hours, both during and outside of regular business hours.
Ski mountaineering must be practiced respecting safety regulations, signage, recommendations, and instructions from accredited resort staff, in order to guarantee a safe activity that is compatible with other users.

The Cubil sector of the Pal ski resort hosted the National Avalanche Drill on January 8th, with the participation of approximately eighty professionals. The event included the involvement of Civilian Protection, firefighters, ski patrollers, the Police and others.
This technical exercise focused on reviewing and updating the procedures, tools, and rescue techniques to be applied in the event of an avalanche within a ski area. The objective was to evaluate the coordination and operations of the various response teams involved in an emergency to improve the effectiveness of managing and resolving avalanche-related incidents.

The ski resorts in Andorra have officially started the winter season, which will last until 6 April.
This has been possible thanks to the snowfall received during November, but especially to the work carried out by the technical teams and the snowmaking network of the ski areas.

Ordino Arcalís inaugurates the ski season

The station partially opens the Coma area as of today and will expand the ski area in the following few days.
The recent snowfalls and the work of the technical teams have allowed the opening to be advanced a week.
The rest of the ski resorts will open on the scheduled date for the official start of the season, set for December 5th.
