National avalanche drill

05/03/2025

The Ordino – Arcalis ski resort has been selected for the national avalanche drill organised annually by Civil Protection and Firefighters with the collaboration of all the responsible figures who intervene in the event of an extraordinary emergency. The aim is to recreate a simulation as close as possible to a real emergency.

More than 80 professionals, including the ski patrols from the Andorra ski resorts, have participated in the drill that took place in the Coma area, as an exercise to improve emergency coordination and response.

An avalanche alert has been activated in the ski area. Initially, the resort and its team of ski patrols are in charge of the situation. When the situation requires more intervention, the specialized mountain group takes control and activates the rest of the services such as the police, the SUM (medical service) and civil protection.

The main objective is to optimise the response time to possible accidents, thus reinforcing the safety of everyone.
